Position Description: RN
BayCare Health System is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Oncology team at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. As a trusted provider in the community, St. Anthony’s Hospital is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while supporting the professional growth and well-being of our team members.
The Oncology unit provides comprehensive care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including medical oncology and supportive therapies. Nurses on this unit care for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product administration, symptom management, and coordinated multidisciplinary care, with a strong emphasis on safety, education, and emotional support.
The RN responsibilities include:
Independently caring for a group of patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
Safely administering chemotherapy and other oncology treatments in accordance with policies and protocols
Coordinating and delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team
Providing patient and family education related to diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management
Demonstrating professional accountability and commitment to ongoing development
Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

Qualifications – External
Certifications and Licensures:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
Active RN (Registered Nurse) license required
ACLS Certification, if required by department
Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN®) preferred
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience:
1 year of RN experience in acute care required
Oncology nursing experience preferred
Specific Skills:

Critical thinking and clinical judgment
