Title: Infection Preventionist II
Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital
Responsibilities Include:
- Actively suggests and seeks ideas to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Able to prepare for group meetings by identifying key issues and expectations and can identify resources most likely to guide project tasks.
- Demonstrates competence as an infection preventionist and is an active advocate for patient safety.
- Independently develops educational material, delivers training on varied infection control, topics and exhibits a diverse skill set (surveillance, outbreak and post exposure contact investigation, analysis, education, communication).
- Demonstrates strategic thinking by understanding health system goals and applying these to planning projects and interventions.
- Rotation in the on call schedule will be managed independently.
- Will help lead the IP team preparation for Joint Commission and Regulatory readiness as well as assist with infection control policy revisions.
- Will orient and mentor new departmental team members.
- Will be proficient with utilization of NHSN definitions related to hospital acquired infections.

Experience and Education Requirements
- Required - 3 years of Clinical Related experience with RN license and Nursing Degree
- OR - 3 years Microbiology experience with Medical Technologist Certification and Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Public Health
- OR - 2 years Infection Control with RN license and Nursing Degree
- OR - 2 years Epidemiology experience with a Masters Degree in Epidemiology and at least one year of clinical experience
- Or - 3 years RRT experience with RRT license and active NBRC Credential RRT with Associates in Respiratory Care
Certification
- Required - Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC)

Status: Full Time; Exempt
Shift Hours: 8:00AM - 4:30PM
