Position Summary
The Cook II is responsible for preparing food according to standardized recipes and production methods, ensuring quality and safety throughout the process. This role includes:
- Preparing and serving meals while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
- Conducting quality control checks on taste, temperature, and presentation for patient, cafeteria, and catering meals.
- Training and orienting new team members on food production and safety procedures.
- Leading production in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Performing additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Experience
- Required: 4 years as a cook OR 2 years with a high school diploma/equivalent.
- Preferred: 6 months of experience in food services or healthcare.
Education
- Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Completion of a Technical or Culinary Program.
Certification
- ServSafe Manager food safety certification required within one year of hire.
