Winter Haven Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Pool/PRN to join our Acute Care team. This role supports patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery by helping them regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, and self-care skills—while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Pool/PRN Responsibilities:
- Acute care COTA is responsible for assisting in the delivery of occupational therapy services to patients within the acute care hospital.
- Assist in evaluating patients' needs and progress under the supervision of an OT.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to help patients improve motor skills, cognitive abilities, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Carry out treatment plans as designed by the Occupational Therapist, modifying techniques based on patient responses.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, techniques, and adaptive equipment to support recovery.
- Teach patients how to safely perform tasks and manage physical challenges they may face during daily activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, responses to treatments, and any changes in condition.
- Document daily therapy sessions, goals, and any relevant notes in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team including OTs, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to plan and deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- May provide direct clinical supervision for Rehabilitation Technicians.
