Morton Plant Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in patient care and clinical innovation, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Acute Physical Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, supporting recovery from surgery, injury, or illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL’s).
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with BayCare standards.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Required BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Required PT (Physical Therapy)
- Or PT (Physical Therapy) Eligible to obtain
- Or PT (Physical Therapy) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
- Required Bachelor's Physical Therapy, preferred Master's/Doctoral
- Preferred 1-year Physical Therapist
- Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome.
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary patient populations.
- Familiarity with BayCare EMR systems and documentation protocols.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
