Employee Relations Investigator
About the Job
Administers employee relations programs with a focus on compliance with State and Federal Labor Laws, regulations and other requirements. Conducts extensive and detailed investigations. Leads all discrimination, harassment, and retaliation investigations and recommends course of action in investigation. Administers employee relations program to ensure uniform adherence to company’s policies and procedures. Counsels employees and makes recommendations to resolve issues.
Conducts extensive and detailed investigations, develops investigation strategy and recommends course of action.
Administers employee relations programs.
Aids all employees and management on issues regarding company policy, regulations, and legislation.
Participates in employee complaint process. Investigates employee complaints, gathers factual information relating to employee claims and makes recommendations resolve issues within company guidelines.
Advises management of and assists in formal discipline and termination issues.
Leads in-depth interviews of employees, participants, witnesses, and /or others as necessary. May also conduct exit and other interviews.
Leads all discrimination, harassment, and /or retaliation investigations.
Gathers factual information and provides recommendations for incident resolution that minimizes risk/exposure to the organization.
Completes detailed and extensive investigative reports.
BA/BS in appropriate area such as Human Resources, Labor Relations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
MA/MS/MBA or other appropriate advanced degree preferred.
Appropriate certification such as PHR or SPHR preferred
10 or more years prior general experience in Labor/Employee Relations or related fields preferred.
Prior experience conducting employee investigations and other employee relations functions preferred.
Prior Auto Club experience preferred.
Prior supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
Advance written and verbal communications skills, along with demonstrated people management skills, organizational skills and time management skills required.
Advanced knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and standards of employee relations
Advanced knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations especially as they relate to harassment, discrimination, and retaliation required.
Moderate proficiency with standard IBM PC software including the Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Project, and Access preferred.
Proven ability to achieve high service quality results as well as meet to productivity levels required.
May required occasional travel to other states for investigations, meeting, conferences and training.
