Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physical Therapy Assistant. In this role, under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist, the successful candidate will administer physical therapy services following an individualized plan of care and providing treatment to facilitate mobility, functional ability and increased quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Administers physical therapy treatment for assigned residents under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Interprets and assess resident's reaction and progress to prescribed physical therapy treatment procedures and reports to supervising therapist to make any adjustments accordingly.
- Provides and adjust any equipment necessary for resident's maximal functional level.
- Cooperates with interdepartmental personnel and assist in demonstrating physical therapy techniques for in-service training program.
- Cleans hot pack machine quarterly in absence of Physical Therapy Aide.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents and professional staff personnel.
- Prepares timely progress notes and treatment encounter notes of resident care services weekly. Consult and discuss recertification notes and discharge notes with supervising physical therapist. All notes will be consigned by a physical therapist.
- Instructs and counsels residents and/or NOK by describing therapeutic regimens and progress.
- Supervises assigned physical therapist assistant students.
- Performs a variety of related therapist assistant students.
- Assist other employees where needed.
- Responsible and cooperative with supervisors , fellow employee's resident and families
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with policy and procedures, rules and regulations and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Qualifications
- Associate degree in physical therapy
- Possess a current certification or eligible for certification in New York State and an associate degree in physical therapy.
