Overview
This temporary assignment will serve as a bridge to the CNA Training Program and assist with resident care by providing unit support with the non-direct care activities listed below. This assignment will allow the potential CNA trainee to get a glimpse of the CNA experience from a non-direct care perspective; through observation and direct participation.
By the end of this temporary assignment, both the prospective trainee and CNA Program Manager will be able to make an informed decision on whether to move forward into the next scheduled CNA Training class.
Responsibilities
- Make resident beds
- Transport residents to activities and meals
- Answer call bells
- Answer unit phone
- Check and stock supplies
- Collect plates and cups after dining
- Put away laundry/Labeling clothes for laundry
- Check resident rooms for amenities
- Alert nursing staff of resident needs as necessary
- Perform Enhanced Observation of a resident/patient as assigned, to ensure safety, comfort and companionship.
- Documents resident/patient behaviors, activities hourly in Behavior Book when assigned as to Enhanced Observation.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
