Overview
Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs various duties pertaining to the collection, preparation, washing, drying, ironing, folding and distribution of linens and personal clothing.
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers as assigned areas.
- Separate laundry and linen from garments for specific treatments.
- Loads and unloads washers and dryers, shakes out work in preparation for folding.
- Feeds work to the folder and receives folded items from it.
- Operates ironer as directed.
- Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc.
- Replace and change lint bags used on washer drains.
- Remove lint from dryers as instructed.
- Keep work areas free of hazardous objects. Maintain in a clean orderly and safe manner.
- Clean work/supply carts as directed.
- Reports all hazardous conditions.
- Delivers laundry supplies to designated areas when emergency situations occur.
- Has the skill to operate any laundry equipment.
- Attends mandatory education programs.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
