Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time Genetic Analyst to join our HLA team in Dedham, MA. This position would be a salaried, day-shift position working Monday - Friday

This is a very collaborative position working with other Analysts on the team, but an ability to work independently is very important as well.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in a science related field. ASHI or ASCP Medical Technologist certification or equivalent is strongly preferred. Experience working in a laboratory setting in a hospital, reference laboratory, blood bank or similar is required.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities:
1. Follows detailed protocols for conducting experiments, analysis, testing, etc.
2. Analysis of technical data provided by Technologists.

3.Summarizes and documents results, prepares technical reports as required and prepares manuscripts summarizing projects and results for review and first draft patient write ups.
4. Remains current on scientific work being done in specific fields.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.

Exposure levels are based on the essential functions as stated in this position description; however, in some instances, variances may occur due to the applicable nature of this position within a particular work site. Therefore the work site may determine the exposure level to be greater than or less than the below stated level.

This position is an exposure determination 1 in view of the fact that the position requires the incumbent work under conditions where the potential exists for the incumbent to make contact with blood or blood components as a result of splashes, spills, and/or needlesticks. Potential exists to also be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
