Job Description:

Participates in development of funding growth for the chapter through analysis, recommendation and coordination of Financial Development events and activities, strategic implementation of cause-marketing relationships, and management of third-party fundraisers. May be responsible for management and coordination of volunteer committees, vendor support, event communications and donor follow-up and recognition.

Support Regional Chief Development Officer (CDO):

  • Serve as support for Chief Development Officer supporting projects and tasks related to Development Team. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Calendar management to CDO and Development Team Meetings
    • Serving as lead for projects related to Disaster Fundraising during times of disaster
    • Support CDO in creation and management of 2 Annual Development Retreats
  • Additional Admin Support:
    • Lead on Volunteer Engagement and On-Boarding for Development Team and Supervise front desk volunteers so we can receive mail/packages at least 2 days a week in San Francisco Office.
    • Serving as lead for all purchases including office supplies monthly, event materials, holiday catalogs, etc.
    • Responsible for stocking breakroom, copier & janitorial supplies. Point of contact for vendors coming in for repair & maintenance.
    • Serving as Vendor Relation's Lead, which includes being point for all vendor contracts, payments, invoices, etc.
    • Monitor the parking in the parking garage and manage keys for the Fleet vehicles.


Development Team Budget Management:
  • Support the management of our annual Regional Development Budget
  • Provide Development Team with ongoing updates on revenue, expenses, and potential flags for implementing adjustments to the overall Regional Budget
  • Build any tools necessary for ensuring we don't exceed anticipated budget expenses
  • Work with Chief Development Officer to build out Regional Budget spreadsheets, expenses, and any support documents needed for the Development Team
  • Help ensure we come in 10% below budgeted expenses


Support Development Fundraising Events:
  • Create and Support all Event Briefings for Fundraising Events
  • Manage Budget Overview for all Events to ensure we stay on track with Regional Events Manager
  • Serve as Cvent Lead (Ticketed Pages, Manages RSVP List)
  • Understands and utilizes multiple data and reporting systems to access data and reports to support the development team.


Gift Processing and Data Management:
  • Coordinates gift processing for the region and ensures gift processing procedures are followed and understood which can include collaborating with the business operations team to ensure accurate execution of check processing and bundling procedures. Reviews gift reports to identify needed gift adjustments and/or gift linking requests to support accuracy of regional revenue and fundraiser credit per the national credit guidelines.
  • Coordinates data hygiene updates to support the quality of data in the CRM and other data systems including creating new accounts, requesting account merges and making other needed updates in the CRM and/or requesting updates through submission of data support cases.
  • Supports portfolio updates in CRM by transferring accounts/contacts to the appropriate relationship manager as determined by regional leadership.
  • Utilizes the CRM (Salesforce FRF) platform to support fundraising leadership and field fundraisers. Assists with onboarding of new fundraisers in the region and serves as the primary systems trainer for new hires. Educates the users on new functionality and/or changes in the CRM. Provides ongoing training to regional development team on CRM and other development data systems/reports.
  • Supports tracking large budgeted monthly gifts, as reflected in the revenue budget to support regional forecasting.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience and documented success in fund development or equivalent experience.

Management Experience: Preferred 6 months -1 year supervisory experience.

Other: Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM experience preferred.

Travel: May involve travel and a vehicle and valid Driver's License is needed.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.

Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
