Amazon Project Kuiper is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to help build, test and validate an innovative networking solution for a broadband satellite service.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer on Amazon Project Kuiper, you will work on real world problems on a large scale network and influence the quality of broadband ISP technology that impacts customers around the world. The team you will work is fast paced, highly collaborative start up like environment inside Amazon. To be successful you need to be flexible and entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating with ambiguity. You are a strong, self-driven owner - you are passionate about the potential customer and societal impact and will operate at all levels, diving deep into the details while providing strategic inputs for the quality of critical connectivity technologies that define the network.

You will work closely and cross-functionally with internal teams. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. You will be responsible for the defining and executing tests and test automation, and creating the automation.

Key job responsibilities
QA Engineers test wireless software, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs use different testing techniques; they understand software internals, wireless/networking protocols, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests and user-level test automation tools with Python/Perl/Java scripts and/or automated tools. QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers, and Business Owners to understand technical implementation of features. QA Engineers will also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments in addition to regression tests and driving the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies, always seeking to avoid defects or find them earlier in the process.

Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Amazon Project Kuiper is a long-term effort to greatly extend the reach of affordable broadband satellite enable ISP services to customers around the world.


  • 6+ years of experience in QA methodology and industry-standard testing and bug tracking tools
  • 6+ years of experience in testing network protocols for switching, routing, SDNs, and wireless networks.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven Experience in testing network technologies like switching, routing, SDN, and wireless. .
  • Experience building test harnesses and test tools
  • Fluency in Python/Perl/Java/Javascript and/or C#
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with Android development environment
  • Proven ability to create, execute, and maintain comprehensive and air-tight test plans
  • Enthusiasm to dig into technical specifications and to troubleshoot problems
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
  • Creativity and initiative for improving product coverage and effectiveness
  • Strong understanding of requirements and business needs in practical application
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
