Amazon Web Services is seeking top industry technical expert for a new team dedicated to expanding our Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to government customers. We are seeking a talented engineer skilled in the art of integration who understands the Agile mindset and DevOps philosophies, yet is not constrained by how “things are usually done" and is willing to decompose and reinvent systems, processes, and tools. Our systems engineers spend time:
· Investigating new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers
· Maintaining the world's most advanced cloud computing infrastructure including Amazon Web Services EC2, EBS, Security, and Tools product spaces
· Investigating system variances about to affect major services worldwide
· Diving deep into service interdependencies and region specific configurations to find the root of a problem about to affect an entire nation

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. A Day 1 start is contingent on a successful clearance crossover.


· 3+ years of Linux experience with associated tools/languages, OR 1+ year Linux and 3+ years windows server (2003-2016)
· 3+ years in one of the following related disciplines (Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, DevOps, Security Administration, or Network Administration)
· 3+ years experience managing/implementing system health, performance monitoring, performing capacity planning, or process improvement and automation.
· 2+ years experience with scripting languages in any of the following (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash/Shell, Powershell)
· 2+ years experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments
· 2+ years experience with Networking fundamentals or Internet protocols such as (TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, DNS, HTTP/S, etc...)
· Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph


· 5+ years of Linux experience and demonstrated proficiency with associated tools/languages, Or 1+ year Linux + 3+ years windows server (2003-2016)
· 5+ years of experience with mission critical, 24x7 operations
· 4+ years experience with scripting languages in any of the following (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash/Shell, Powershell)
· 4+ years experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments
· 3+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
· Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as Load Balancing, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN)
· Advanced knowledge of configuration management systems, such as: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related systems.
