Overview
Want to support the design and development of Innovative Reduced Harm Oral products through rapid iterative prototyping efforts for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you have a bachelors degree along with scientific, technical, product innovation knowledge and experience with product or process development, we want to speak with you! We are currently looking for a Sr. Scientist I Reduced Harm Product Prototyping in Richmond, VA.
What you will be doing:
Independently translating development formulations and recipes into novel oral product prototypes that can be evaluated internally by Product Developers, Project Panels or by Adult Tobacco Consumers 21+ and recommending modifications or improvements that could improve the prototypes and the production of them
Working with Platform Leaders to build and submit prototype production plans for internal/external prototyping facilities based on program needs and ensure basic lab measurements such as water activity, pH, and density are captured and submit prototypes for analytical testing that is required to release them for internal or external testing
Submitting prototypes for analytical testing that is required to release them for internal or external testing
Defining, setting up and maintaining lab scale prototyping equipment, to include equipment specifications, parameters and maintenance programs to ensure all current and future ION prototyping capabilities are met
Establishing and maintaining capability to make basic lab measurements such as water activity, pH, and density to support prototyping and product development decisions related to product formulations and recipes
Participating in consumer research designed to gain feedback from ATC 21+ that can be used to guide prototype iterations that improve overall product experience
Collaborating with team members and craft an inclusive environment that drives learning and growth
We want you to have:
Bachelors degree in an applicable field required.
Intermediate level of scientific, technical, product innovation knowledge / experience within product or process development.
Training in Principles of Process and Product Development with some experience in producing early stage prototypes for evaluation
Design Thinking, Agile Methodologies and Consumer Centric approaches to product development would be a plus
Quality by Design / Design Control / AQRM knowledge and expertise a plus
Demonstrated project and risk management knowledge and expertise
Positive growth mentality and an aptitude for innovation
General office, lab and production environment requirements (ability to lift up to 50lbs, wear lab or production safety equipment such as safety glasses, hair and beard nets etc. and the ability to travel)
