This job opportunity is within the Biomolecular Analysis Division (BAD) of the Diagnostics & Genomics Group (DGG).

 

The position:

The Software Quality Engineer will join our BAD quality and regulatory team located in Waldbronn, Germany, and Ankeny, Iowa. These sites are home to an outstanding Technology and Development Team which is passionate about research, design and development of next generation products. 

 

The Software that the BAD team develops controls state of the art automated instruments for quality control of DNA, RNA or proteins and enables customers to analyze their data in a compliant environment.

 

To be the successful candidate for this position you must be a self-motivated problem solver who takes a results-oriented approach, willing to take accountability and works well in a team environment. You will strive to ensure that high quality software solutions are designed, engineered, and manufactured in conformance with customer expectations as well as required standards and regulations.

 

You will be supporting the forming of a software quality structure and directly reporting to the Quality Director of the BAD Quality and Regulatory Team.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Overseeing the product lifecycle processes and achieving high quality outcomes
  • Supporting the definition of product requirements and developing verification and validation strategies
  • Coordinating with experts to understand the product and communicating the associated risks
  • Developing the test strategy to improve test coverage, to support the development of test infrastructure and to create robust automation test suites
  • Driving improvements to upstream processes to increase the team’s efficiency and enhance the quality of the product
  • Designing and developing automated tests and user-interface tests using various frameworks
  • Logging, verifying and closing defects in JIRA for problems identified as software defects
  • Performing analysis of test results and tracking risk levels during test execution
  • Writing, reviewing, or approving Quality Plans, Test Plans and Test Cases
  • Providing customer escalation support
  • Mentoring team members and sharing best practices
  • Providing support for internal and external auditing and compliance
