AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer for employment in our Germantown, Maryland or Arlington, VA office to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for flood hazard mapping projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development, application, and QC review of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS with 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- GIS experience and demonstrated knowledge of working through GIS platform
- Experience in hydrology and hydraulic modeling using programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
Preferred Qualifications
- License as a Professional Engineer (or pursuing) is preferred
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is highly preferred
