Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative highly talented Wastewater Engineer for full-time employment based in our Markham office (or one of our other Greater Toronto Area offices - Mississauga or Whitby).

The appropriately qualified candidate will have a successful track record in the design of complex municipal wastewater facilities, with experience at industrial facilities considered an asset. You will work in a team environment to deliver advanced wastewater treatment projects to our client base. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and customers
  • Support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal wastewater sector
  • Provide detailed calculations for wastewater processes
  • Prepare technical specifications and detailed designs
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Provide construction support, site inspections and commissioning
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in design, construction administration of municipal wastewater projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer in a Canadian province or ability to become registered within 12 months
  • Wastewater treatment design and optimization experience
  • Consulting engineering, cost estimating and specification writing experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in water/wastewater treatment
  • 10+ years of consulting engineering experience
  • Motivated, team player, organized, excellent communication skills, with ability to work independently.
  • Ability to take a project from inception through conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs and ultimately through to construction and commissioning
  • Strong report writing capability
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong work ethic and the desire to excel
