Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an established professional services leader in the Transit-Rail sector to drive the growth, strategy, and profitability of AECOM’s services in the West Coast of the United States. This position can be located in Seattle, Los Angeles, Orange, Oakland or San Francisco. This individual will be part of the senior leadership team for the West Coast Transportation Business Line reporting directly to the Transportation Regional Business Line Leader and will have full P&L responsibility for the Transit-Rail Division. The Division Manager will provide leadership and coaching to staff in various subjects including, but not limited to, account management, business development, capture management, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will be an industry leader with existing relationships at key transit agencies in California and Washington. The Transit-Rail business line at AECOM spans the full suite of services including environmental, planning, engineering, design, and program and construction management. With AECOM’s recent California High Speed Rail Authority Program Delivery Support Services award, AECOM continues to be a leader in iconic transit-rail programs on the West Coast and the Transit-Rail Division Manager will need the skills to recruit at a fast pace for this major program, while balancing a focus on winning more iconic projects. This leader will need to be a self-starter who can build a high-performing team rapidly, demonstrate a successful track record in winning work, and be experienced in running a profitable business.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required + 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and 4+ years of demonstrated leadership and managing large teams of people with prior P&L experience
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, capture management, and account management
  • Ability to build broad and deep internal and external networks, and capable of communicating to inspire and lead others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Civil Engineer in California or Washington
  • Graduate degree in engineering or MBA
  • Ability to teach and mentor technical staff by demonstrated knowledge of relevant technical skills and tools
  • Team-oriented individual with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
  • Ability to balance various responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
