Job Summary
AECOM’s New York office is seeking a dynamic Traction Power Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to perform design calculations learn and apply new material efficiently and support the rail systems group during design and construction projects.
You will also have the opportunity to work on ongoing notable projects with major railway systems while showing technical competence in all elements of transit traction power engineering. You also must have experience with projects including design and construction of commuter rail roads, new light rail, and subway systems across the US. Typical projects also include design for local commuter rail systems such as Metro North, LIRR, PATH and New Jersey Transit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
• Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
• Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
• Leads technical business development work.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Leader in one or more areas of technology.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects

Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS plus 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience with railway electrification (DC and AC), specifically design, construction, test & commissioning, and maintenance of electrical substations
- Experienced in the development of technical specifications of electrical substation equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical engineer with proven experience in railway traction power discipline
Additional Details
- Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000.
