AECOM is seeking a Sr. Civil Rail Design Engineer based in our Raleigh North, Carolina office. Reporting to the Civil Rail Lead, this position will be responsible for track design expertise in relation to engineering work associated with North Carolina rail and track transportation design projects.
Responsibilities:
Design of track arrangements including turnouts, special track work and rail yards
Prepare plans in accordance with Class I railroad guidelines
Conduct quantity takeoffs and construction estimates
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams

BS Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or related field with 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (AAS Degree)
2 plus years of experience in civil and track design
Must have a Valid U.S. Driver's License with a good driving record
Working understanding of NCDOT Rail Division’s guidelines/procedures/plan preparation
Experience working with Class I railways (especially CSX and Norfolk Southern)
