In this role, you will work closely with our Principal Transport Planners and Associate Directors within Transportation. You will also be expected to provide some mentoring and technical advice for more junior team members. As such, you will need to have the knowledge and demonstrable experience of a range of transport planning skills (as listed below) and ideally with some experience of project management and supervisory skills. We expect excellent written and oral communication skills which we will continue to develop.

Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide support to Principal Transport Planners and Associate Directors on technical, managerial and financial matters
- Deliver technical advice to support the development of transport strategies for clients
- Support in mentoring junior staff in terms of enhancing their technical skills and professional development
- Support in preparing scope and fee estimates for new projects and to ensure projects are delivered to budget and that KPIs are met
- Be a point of contact for clients to build good relationships and encourage repeat business; and
- Represent the client and AECOM at meetings where required

Minimum Requirements
- Fully qualified professional or specialist able to lead on complex tasks / projects
- Able to take a lead role in areas of expertise including presenting technical work prepared by yourself and others
- Ability to manage a varied workload and lead on task management and delivery with minimal supervision.
- Experience in delivering large strategic transport studies, business case development, working within emerging markets (such as EV, Micro Mobility) and supporting the development of mass transit solutions as part of green/low carbon agendas.
- Can produce clear, concise reports which are right first time
- Manage technical interfaces within your own and other disciplines and can act as a key client contact
- Has a sound knowledge of policies, codes and regulations relevant to their technical specialism
- Questions and challenges conventional methodologies and offers up new ideas and solutions
- Actively seeks out colleagues and clients to agree project scopes, roles and responsibilities
- Able to recognise risks associated with a project and provide guidance on mitigation and controls
- Familiar with financial aspects of projects and can monitor progress
- Inputs to bids for a range of opportunities and understands relevant governance processes
- Forms and actively participates in technical networks
- Prepares and delivers formal and informal on the job technical training

- A degree in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Geography, Planning, Mathematics, Economics or similar.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution, for example, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), Transport Planning Society (TPS), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK (CILT) or Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), is essential, and chartered membership desirable.
