The AECOM Remediation Practice is seeking a Senior Remedial Engineer to join our team based in New York City. We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects, and promote growth in existing and new markets. The successful candidate will assume technical leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. We desire a candidate who will be a technical leader across a breadth of disciplines, and who has the skills to develop staff to fulfill project needs and objectives. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated qualifications in technical performance, business development, and leadership roles.

This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, clients, site personnel and office management.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.



The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design and serves as lead engineer on mid- to large scale projects.
  • Develop new business, including marketing and proposing to potential and existing clients, and be integral in securing and managing clients and contracts.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Coordinates and prepares written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyzes data and develops supported conclusions.
  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Works collaboratively with other teams within the Remediation department, and professionals across AECOM internal business lines.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
  • Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer Registration/License
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Valid Driver's license with a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.
  • Experience as a project manager and technical lead on remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight.
  • Strong understanding of remediation design, construction, and OM&M.
  • Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, etc
Additional Information
  • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
