Job Summary
AECOM has an immediate need for a highly talented Project Accountant to support our New York Metro Business. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of office and remote schedule and will be based in New York City, NY.

Job Summary
  • Perform various aspects of Project Accounting Management including end-to-end project support with mix contract types
  • Assist and support internal project manager in the use of project management systems and reports
  • Monthly review on projects with internal project team to preemptively identify project issues and highlight to stakeholders
  • Prepares various financial reports and provides analysis and recommendations for project performance improvements as and when required
  • Prepare annual budgets (Plan) and monthly forecast (Outlook) for the Business Line in charged
  • Assist Team Lead in identifying, tracking, and reporting on projects in financial distress
  • Assist in tracking and elevating aged billed and unbilled receivables
  • Provide support to junior members of the team in addressing routine and/or technical issues
  • Administration of the project accounting system
  • Ensure internal project accounting policies & procedures are properly adhered to
  • Liaise with internal and external auditor and prepare documentation required
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as and when required Support internal project manager in reviewing and monitoring project financial status

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar curriculum and 4 years of experience supporting analytical accounting reconciliation and auditing or demonstrated equivalency and/or education
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proactive, meticulous and a team player with leadership qualities
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Proven ability to apply professional concept in a productive, consistent manner
  • Experience in Big 4 will be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Oracle preferred
Additional Information:
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future
  • Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offering for this position
  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $66K - $116K USD annually.
