AECOM are currently looking to recruit two Senior GIS Consultants to join our Uk &I Geospatial & Data Services team. These roles will give the successful candidates the opportunity to provide a focal point for the region whilst raising the profile of the team and developing a strong working relationship with other AECOM teams and disciplines. The roles an be located based from our Belfast office covering Northern Ireland, or Birmingham office covering the UK Midlands. These are permanent roles within a team of 50 geospatial and data specialists that are located in multiple offices across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Data, Geospatial & Analytics Lead, the role will lead the GIS delivery on a range of projects to both internal and external clients, working as part of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team on projects ranging in scale and complexity.
You will need to establish strong relationships with internal Project Managers and technical leads, with the aim to maximise the benefit that geospatial technology can bring to project delivery. Identification and development of internal & external geospatial business opportunities will also be expected.

The role:
- Lead on the GIS element of major projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Provide consultancy to internal and external clients to understand their needs and provide solutions
- Working to programme and budget whilst maintaining quality of delivery
- Identify areas for business development
- Support GIS Consultants and Graduates on project delivery
- Development and implementation of GIS standards and best practice
- Ensure quality assurance on own and junior members deliverables
- Manage the production of high quality outputs
- Design and manage geodatabases
- Carry out geoprocessing/analysis tasks and manage the same carried out by junior members of the team
- Manage webGIS (AGOL/ArcGIS Enterprise/apps) for major projects
- You will provide critical GIS Leadership to deliver projects on time and budget.
- You should be innovative and creative with strong interpersonal communication skills and be comfortable working independently as well as in an interdisciplinary multi-cultural team.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven GIS knowledge and experience of managing GIS projects in a commercial environment
- Ability to liaise with internal and external clients to promote GIS and deliver high quality GIS input into their projects
- Highly competent in the use of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Exposure to developing and using Esri mobile apps such as Survey123 and Field Maps
- An excellent understanding of spatial data structures and fundamental concepts of GIS
- Ability to complete work with GIS best practice and corporate standards in mind
- Customer focused, motivated, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in the delivery of allocated project tasks, to quality, time and budget requirements
- Provide dynamic and innovative solutions
- Prior experience in the use of ModelBuilder, ArcPy and geoprocessing tools to automate tasks

- A degree qualification in GIS or a related field where GIS skills have been developed (a relevant MSc would be desirable but not essential).
