AECOM’s Water team in Glasgow are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to help lead project teams in the technical delivery of projects. You will work within an established multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for technical & project delivery on a range of projects – covering water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure, drainage and flood alleviation projects throughout Scotland and internationally.

AECOM’s Water team in Glasgow are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to help lead project teams in the technical delivery of projects. You will work within an established multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for technical & project delivery on a range of projects – covering water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure, drainage and flood alleviation projects throughout Scotland and internationally.
The Role
- Responsible for the preparation and successful completion of project deliverables
- Produce technical calculations to a high standard by hand or using current computer software
- Prepare technical specifications
- Review and comment on work produced by others to ensure timely and accurate results
- Mentor and assist less experienced staff to achieve their potential and ensure that they fulfil project requirements
- Ensure compliance of design and other deliverables with all applicable standards and regulations
- Liaise with other disciplines and clients to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and responsibilities
- Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for projects, and manage and monitor this input throughout the project
- Take ownership of aspects of project safety that are within your control, such as carrying out Safety in Design practises and ensuring any out of office work has been appropriately planned and risk assessed.
- Typical deliverables for our projects include calculations, reports, 2D CAD drawings, and 3D Models. You would be expected to utilise a number of digital tools such as BIM360, Navisworks etc to work with our technicians
Minimum Requirements

Preferred Experience:

- Experience in design of multiple aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure
- Good understanding of CDM
- Efficient time management and planning (both for yourself and others)
- Ability to work to a programme and highlight timeously any issues that will cause delays or changes
- Ability to cope with changes to client requirements or timescales during project delivery
Preferred Experience:
- Design Project management experience
- Some site experience
- Experience using 3D design software such as civils 3D, Revit etc. Would be beneficial, but not essential

- CEng/IEng qualified in civil - or anticipated achievement of this status.
