Our Streets team has a vacancy for a Senior Active Travel Engineer working with our Birmingham City Centre office. Fully flexible working/working from home available.
The team provides concept, preliminary and detailed design and network modelling services on a wide range of projects for local authorities and contractors plus supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised traffic and highways interface.

Our Streets team has a vacancy for a Senior Active Travel Engineer working with our Birmingham City Centre office. Fully flexible working/working from home available.
The team provides concept, preliminary and detailed design and network modelling services on a wide range of projects for local authorities and contractors plus supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised traffic and highways interface.
You will be joining a growing team that is actively involved in the delivery of projects and services to a range of both local and national clients including:
- West Midlands Combined Authority / Transport for West Midlands
- Wolverhampton City Council
- Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
You will:
- Undertake design duties in the preparation of preliminary & detailed design and project delivery of traffic engineering, local transport and local authority/municipal highway schemes
- Prepare detailed technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.
- Lead on and ensure the technical content and quality of all outputs are in line with the project brief, design regulations and standards, checking the work of others.
- Ability to Undertake Health & Safety duties including fulfilling all responsibilities for safety, health and environment in design.
- Input into detailed client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to major bids.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant design and safety standards (e.g. DMRB, TSRGD, TSM, MCHW, Manual for Streets, CDM Regulations)
- Experience in the design of highway engineering and local transport schemes, including
