AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Science Intern for employment in our Houston (TX), Long Beach (CA), Orange (CA), Baton Rouge (LA), or Kenova (WV) offices. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.
This full-time position is expected to be in May/June 2023, with an expected duration of 3-4 months and estimated 30-40 hours/week.
Job Overview
The Science Intern I will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career.
Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related.
- Must have completed 1 year of study in relevant degree program.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
- Candidate must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
- Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
- Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

- Travel is required for this position.

- Candidates will be asked to submit to a drug test and Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
