AECOM is seeking a Safety Specialist to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves in a liaison capacity with client and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.
  • Coordinates audits of health and safety programs within the organization.
  • Develops and/or implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with health and safety requirements at multiple project locations.
  • Ensures that HSE incidents are properly reported and investigated as appropriate.
  • Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.
  • Develop and/or conduct basic health, safety, and environment (HSE) training to employees.
  • Drafts all necessary reports to federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Coordinates audits of health and safety programs within the organization.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience in developing a safety and accident prevention program for a large public or private organization
  • OSHA 500 and 40 hour HAZWOPER completed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene or closely related field
  • 10 years of experience in leading and implementing a safety program within the public or private sector
