Job Summary
- Be responsible and accountable for hands-on managing overall SH&E safety and health operational and non- operational matters in Singapore and SEA regional (all inclusive)
- To progressively monitor, follow up on the SH&E metrics and Key Performance Indicators contributions in the region and countries of operation and ensure that regular communication is issued and the Director SH & E, Asia is kept informed regularly for continuous improvement towards corporate Goal Zero
- Develop project safety plans for construction project of various sizes i.e., < $10 million and > $ 10 million value
- Carry out risk assessments and develop job safety analysis for construction activities all kinds. Assist project leads in conducting the same
- To complete or ensure that monthly office inspections are completed and submitted to Southeast Asia office in timely manner
- Timely reporting of all incidents including near misses, dangerous occurrences, and incidents/accidents. Do the incident investigation and develop the lessons learnt to share with wider audience within the company
- Ensure that corrective/preventive actions for any incidents or safety observations are closed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the subcontractors and subconsultants meet AECOM’s SH&E management system requirements
- To ensure that Project leads (Project Managers) complete the PM Self-assessment/Safety System Audit every month and upload on company intranet before the due date
- Maintain a register of laws, regulations and requirements across the region and Singapore and update them regularly and share with operations team including Business line leaders
- To assist Business leads in doing their Senior Management Observations (SMOs) on the process on LIFEGUARD and help them identify the areas of work in which they can contribute
- To deliver SH&E trainings and associated works such as preparing, scheduling and coordinating trainings scheduling with Director SH & E Asia.
- Work closely with a team of Safety Champions and project safety resources throughout the Southeast Asia countries to ensure that the AECOM minimum safety requirements are implemented
- Assist Project Managers with completion of SH&E components in proposals, tenders, bids and project plans
- Maintain and update SH&E statistics regularly in databases and company intranet portals/SharePoint and provide the same to the relevant stakeholders on demand
- Develop safety plan for Singapore office and run safety committee meeting and carry out monthly safety inspections
- Assist in maintaining the intranet safety webpage and ensure that the SH&E safety forms, procedures, template remain current
- Act as Safe Management officer (SMO) as and when required for the office or site and assist with implementation of safe management measures for a disruptive event or pandemic
- Draft the safety communications and be the point of contact for safety
- Be the lead Safety Warden and co-ordinate conduct of fire drill and evacuation in a safe manner as organized by the building management.
Minimum Requirements
- Min 8 to 12 years’ experience in construction industry with hands on experience implementation of SH&E management systems. At least 5 years’ experience working with contractors’ side in infrastructures, power plants and transport sector (preferred).
- Experienced in conducting safety inspections and audits
- Able to write reports with least help
- Good understanding of international health and safety codes
- Able to develop and deliver SH&E trainings at least at supervisor and project management levels
- Past experience in doing incident investigations for lost time injuries (preferred)
- Able to work independently and multitask efficiently
- Eager to learn and develop himself
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered workplace Safety and health Officer with MOM, Singapore (WSHO regd.)
- Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related disciplines
