Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking a Sr Project/Commercial Manager in Quebec to grow our business. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership to all of AECOM's business lines as well as drive both project/program delivery and growth.
People:
- Senior member of the Quebec leadership team, ensuring effective collaboration and responding quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends and to opportunities;
- Mentor, engage and develop teams through balanced and inclusive leadership.
Clients:
- Works closely with the Area Manager, Business Unit and End Market Leaders to ensure the area maximizes business opportunities and sales and to set and drive growth targets ensuring that the practice areas integrate effectively to win work and drive client relationships;
Excellence:
- Drive safety, integrity, operational and financial performance in Quebec;
- Integrate the work of the end market teams in Quebec to ensure an integrated and collaborative approach;
- Ensure effective implementation of the AECOM Global and Regional policies in Quebec
- Ensure teams are committed to service excellence and enhance the businesses reputation in Quebec
Leadership:
- Ability to identify, develop, mentor and engage with key employees.
- Ability to lead by example and demonstrate commitment to ESG values
- Capable of selecting and developing strong leadership teams in all business lines, ensuring business leaders manage teams effectively and respond quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends and to opportunities, which ensures business plans are achieved.
Operations Management:
- Significant experience in the development of a business plan and associated budget for operations (strategy, roadmap and measurement)
- Previous evidence of growing market share above competitors while maintaining margins
- Demonstrated history of championing a culture of safety and integrity
- Capable of working seamlessly with the business Directors of Operations (DOOs) in order to meet the Area growth and profit expectations are met
- Manage and mitigate business risks
Strategy Development:
- Previous experience in establishing organizational strategic plans that contributes to overall AECOM plan
- Demonstrated success in the development and execution of an adjacent market plan to diversify core market
- Experience in the development of an organic and M& A growth strategy
- Skilled in developing potential JV partnerships to pursue new work
Financial Management :
- Significant experience in successfully running a P& L through multiple/different business cycles
- History of successfully meeting a challenging margin improvement goal
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to maximize profitability through demonstrated risk identification and management / contract commercial knowledge
Client Relationships :
- Significant ability to maintain positive relationships with leadership of client organizations and partner/competitor organizations
- Skilled communicator who is able to resolve difficult negotiation or dissatisfaction with leadership of client organization
- Ability to influence potential clients to select AECOM and conclude contracts for services with acceptable commercial terms and risk allocation
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in related field;
• 10 years of relevant experience running a P&L - Preferably with experience in one of AECOM's market sectors;
• Must be fluent in both French and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 + years of relevant experience running a P&L - Preferably with experience in one of AECOM's market sectors;
- OIQ certification.
