Role Purpose:
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Project Accounting Team Lead and Global Project Accounting Tower Team by performing high-volume day-to-day tasks which involves, but are not limited to, monitoring of assigned projects, revenue recognition, preparation of reports, and completion of compliance requirements.
Job Description:
Perform end-to-end project support with mix contract types
Ensure proper revenue recognition through cost monitoring and invoice preparation & review
Analyzes revenue recognition issues and coordinates with PA Team Lead is proposing for resolutions
Prepare documentation required for internal and external audit requirements
Handle project escalations by investigating disputes and by making revenue corrections
Participates in projects reviews with local and onshore stakeholders.
Determine control points and recommends improvement areas within the process
Assist in facilitating functional team onboarding and globally driven training
May be assigned to work with and conduct peer review of the projects of newly hired PA Specialists
May be assigned to perform and participate in other local and global PA related projects.
Supports moderately complex project(s), working under general supervision.
Prepares various financial reports and provides analysis and recommendations based on findings.
Requires a proven ability to apply professional concepts in a productive, consistent manner. Maintains records according to generally accepted accounting practices.
Performs audits and generates special financial reports.
Reviews projects for accurate revenue recognition and provides project analysis and recommendations based on findings.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant courses
4-5 years of relevant experience in Project Accounting
Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle, project accounting concepts & methodology, and contract types.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools & MS Teams application
Experience in a shared service or captive set-up is an advantage.
Experience working with ERP, e.i., Oracle and Blackline Systems is an advantage or other similar platforms and tools
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a varied audience and internal and external customers. (Communication)
Ability to maintain good customer relationship with the ability to suggest ways to improve customer support customer experience (Customer Service)
Ability to be thorough and meticulous in completing assigned tasks and identifying errors, duplicates, & discrepancies through defined methods. (Attention to Detail)
Ability to identify and resolve simple to moderate with the ability to provide resolution alternatives by following defined policies and procedures. (Problem Solving)
