Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Payroll Lead to join the Finance Services team supporting the Design and Consulting Services Group. This position offers a flexible work schedule, primarily remote, with scheduled office work required as needed, and we are seeking candidates in Glen Allen, VA.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Should be responsible to make sure that the team has adequate tools and knowledge to process their payrolls
  • Should be responsible to manage the payroll supplier/vendor and is meeting all the KPI/SLA defined for the payroll activities
  • Will be responsible to make sure that the payroll structure and payroll schedules are well drafted and executed as per the pay frequencies
  • Review and approve all the payroll results processed by the team and the Payroll Vendors for the cycle
  • Manage all off cycle needs
  • Support the team for any questions and outstanding / out of scope scenarios received for the payroll activities
  • Review and adhere to the accounting & statutory reporting as part of the post payroll activities
  • Keep the Accounting accounts well cleared and in control – with no deviations for off sets / write off needed
  • Proactively define the year end activities and closures for the year
  • Track the performance of the team and report feedbacks to the head of payroll on monthly basis
  • Assess the quality of the country payroll and raise concerns to the respective stakeholders for the corrections or mitigations as needed
  • Ensure to avoid any overpayments, Underpayments, Penalties from legal entities due to a bad process in existence
  • Analyze and do Management reporting
  • Will be responsible towards the Audit from internal/external sources on the payroll processes
  • Process Stock Runs monthly and quarterly out of sequence payrolls to update prior quarter taxes.
  • Be able to run reports in payroll as needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS + 4 years of proven experience as a payroll coordinator/lead or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experienced with US payroll/taxes -state and locals
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll (such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act, benefits, US legislations)
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. WorkDay, Oracle, Kronos, ADP Global View, ADP EV5, PayForce etc.)
  • Intermediate experience with Excel (functions, data, VBA, VLOOKUP etc.)
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • FPC or CPP Certifications a plus.
