Description

Job Summary
Are you an operations manager who wants to develop their existing career?

Are you a self-motivated and organised individual with good experience of survey work (ideally geophysics) looking to work on engineering projects that can change our world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so we are looking for an operations manager to join our team. You would be working with a team of geophysicists and surveyors working across a broad range of work areas including projects to support amongst others, Power, Highways, Rail, Air, Ports, Housing and Defence sectors. The role is based out of our Nottingham Office, sitting within our Geophysics team. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.

About Us:
AECOM plays a critical role in the conceptualisation and creation of amazing spaces, delivering projects that define our communities. We are also a leading part of the change to a sustainable future through engineering projects which make a difference to our environment.

We are friendly, busy and motivated with an established track record of successfully delivering both local and overseas projects.

About Our Team:
Our Geophysics team is a growing team who operate across all sectors of the engineering industry, primarily in the UK but have had teams on site in almost all continents globally. We work under the umbrella of RAM (Rail Asset Management) which as well as specialist rail teams, includes other cross discipline teams like GI and Geospatial Engineering, based primarily out of our Nottingham office where we have equipment, fleet and laboratory facilities to support our field operations.
Our projects typically form small (but we like to think crucial) parts of the many major infrastructure projects which AECOM work on, primarily providing in-house surveys and investigations and specialist advice with an emphasis on collaboration to provide our clients with solutions which best suit their needs. This benefits both our clients from timely specialist advice and increased familiarity with geophysical tools and us by the knowledge gained through engagement with our technical specialists and the feedback which supports continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:
Your primary role will be to manage survey works across a range of infrastructure projects. Through this you would be expected produce and/or check operational and H&S paperwork, co-ordinate and plan surveys supporting both our clients and our in-house survey teams, provide briefings, undertake site audits and review and report on shift summaries.
You would be expected to manage equipment, including usage, maintenance, calibration and coding and manage operational training requirements for the team.

There may also be the opportunity to undertake site works on occasion, supporting teams in the field.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience of operations management (for survey work - ideally geophysics)
  • A broad practical experience of undertaking field works in different engineering environments.
  • Geophysical experience preferable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SMSTS/SSSTS/IOSH or equivalent.
  • Relevant Degree, MSc, PhD or Chartership
  • Driving License
  • Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
Your Benefits Will Include:
Helping our employees achieve a healthy work-life balance is important to us. If you join AECOM, as well as receiving a competitive salary, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore flexible working arrangements.

Core benefits include 25 days’ annual leave, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance and one paid annual professional institution membership fee. You can also choose from a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.
