Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking a Junior Web Developer with 2+ years of experience to join our Global Urban Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) within AECOM’s Buildings + Places business line. This individual will work collaboratively with core team members of the Urban Analytics COE as well as other AECOM teams to deliver quality products and solutions to our clients around the world. This can be a hybrid or remote position, with the expectation of working collaboratively with the team by utilizing Microsoft Teams or other virtual communication platforms.

Principle Accountabilities are limited but not include:
  • Build web-based applications, dashboards, and prototype tools
  • Understand business requirements and technical requirements
  • Work in a collaborative fast-paced environment
  • Work closely with project team, and collaborate on project scope and delivery
  • Optimize code for speed and scalability
  • Write reusable scripts
  • Support multiple tasks and projects

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related subjects
  • Proven ability to build web-based applications
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Dedication in delivering high-quality products in a timely manner
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • 3-5 years of work experience in relevant fields
  • Experience with R; experience with R-shiny is a plus
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with frameworks (i.e. NodeJS or Django)
  • Experience with server or cloud hosting
  • Experience with building APIs
  • Experience building highly responsive websites
