Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist IV to be based in Anchorage, AK office. The position is for an experienced science lead or project professional in the environmental consulting field with a safety background that wants to expand their career at a global company. AECOM can offer a vast array of opportunities for a driven individual which may include a role as a local Environment Safety person for the Anchorage office and for a large Federal contract, building up of a HazMat program, and/or project management. Our Anchorage, AK office currently has a strong backlog of consulting work that will help to broaden the knowledge, experience level and value of our employees.

Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial, and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
• Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
• Plans and organizes project studies.
• Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
• Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
• May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong technical and communication skills are critical
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and project skills required
• Knowledge and training in RCRA and CERCLA a plusInternally driven, self-starter, team orientated
• Experience working on or managing contracts
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP)Project
