AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Scientist/Engineer IV to join our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance team in our Charlotte, North Carolina location. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.

The Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Environmental/Property Due Diligence (Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), limited environmental compliance reviews (LECRs), health and safety assessments
Environmental Health And Safety (EHS) Auditing experience
Building surveys for potential hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mold, poly-chlorinated biphenyls [PCBs])
Building/Property operations Assessments (mechanical/electrical/plumbing [MEP], building envelope testing and troubleshooting)
Sustainability projects (possibly new, but primarily retro-fit situations), which may affect building structure, ground stability, conveyance, etc. if implemented without proper design
Assist with collecting and evaluating project data in both field and office settings
Environmental fieldwork primarily in relation to environmental due diligence, industrial hygiene and/or environmental compliance
Preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation (text, tables, figures, and calculations)
Perform independent hands-on fieldwork, oversee contractors (laboratory, drillers, surveyors, etc.), and other field personnel, and interact with clients/client representatives
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member, with some task lead responsibilities
Comfort with technology, apps and databases
Work collaboratively with other members and teams within the department, and other professionals within other AECOM internal business lines.
Undertake technical work in accordance with the contracted scope of work, budget, schedule and legislative standards.
Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings
Anticipated division of job-related tasks is about a 75/25 percent split between office and field work, with fluctuations over the course of each year, depending upon project demands.
Support of other AECOM business lines (Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings and Places, for example) on a variety of public and/or private client projects.

BA/BS Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field
6 years of relevant work experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of work experience and or education.
Experience using map making programs (ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Illustrator) and generating maps and report figures
Must be able to lift/carry items that are up to 50 pounds in weight
Valid US Driver's license
US citizenship
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike.
Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2-hour drive of home office, and occasionally further.
Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
Strong research and report writing
