AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to be based in Germantown, MD.

This position is expected to begin July 2023

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing geotechnical tasks and working closely with other disciplines to meet the project needs

  • Oversight and management of a variety of subsurface investigation programs.

  • Adhere to AECOM safety culture and maintain a safe work environment

  • Assigning geotechnical laboratory testing

  • Performing design calculations for pavements, shallow and deep foundations, tunnel components, retaining walls, temporary and permanent support for excavation

  • Perform settlement analysis, ground improvement analyses, slope stability analyses, seepage analyses

  • Prepare engineering reports and memoranda

  • Performing construction oversight

  • Potential for international travel

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering

Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering
  • Familiarity working in the following programs: gINT, Settle3, Visual Basic, SlopeW, SeepW, Slide, AutoCAD, UTexas, WEAP
