Are you an Engineering Manager looking to work on rail projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in Swindon.

Role Description
As part of the engineering management discipline, you will be accountable for the technical delivery of projects; setting the direction by which a project will progress and managing the technical interfaces between engineering disciplines and stakeholders to deliver the best value outcome for the client against the requirements set.
You will be part of our continuous improvement strategy, sharing knowledge with other engineering management colleagues within the team to maintain high standards and efficient delivery across all our projects.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for the development of delivery methodologies which manage risk, maximise on opportunities for the in pursuit of delivering multi-disciplinary projects to budget and schedule for our clients. On Network Rail projects, where documented in the Engineering and Construction Management Plan and specifically endorsed by the NR Senior Engineer, the Engineering Manager may be authorised to expand their role to carry out some Project Engineer duties subject to the successful assessment by the Designated Project Engineer.
Minimum Requirements
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer CEng / IEng.
  • Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in Engineering.
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge of rail engineering.
  • Knowledge of system interfaces which impact on discipline design principles and demonstrable experience of the successful management of interfaces within projects.
  • Completing quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Application of Construction Design Management (CDM Regulations) 2015, Common Safety Method (CSM) within projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Engineering Manager experience in rail projects.
  • Experience of the application of NR/L2/RSE/02009 standard and associated responsibilities for undertaking Contractor’s Engineering Manager duties on Network Rail Projects.
  • Experience of working within governance processes for project delivery (i.e. PACE, RIBA) and the engineering expectations of each stage of governance.
  • Apply principles of rail System Engineering including requirements specification and management, designing for robustness (Whole System Lifecycle), Safety by Design and System Integration and Verification.
