AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Denver, CO.

This position is expected to begin in June 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
  • Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study
  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering drainage design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates drainage designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Perform development of spreadsheets and data entry
  • Assist in processing of shop drawings – marking up drawings based on comments made by an engineer
  • Engage with other engineering disciplines to help deliver project work

Minimum Requirements
  • Candidate must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must have completed 2 years of study.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of CADD and industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation).
  • Strong organizational, technical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.


Additional Information:

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Non-Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $18.59 - $25.55.
