AECOM is seeking a Control Room Shift Supervisor to be based in Milwaukee, WI.
Job Summary
Control Room Shift Supervisors execute their responsibilities from a Traffic Management Center (TMC), located in Milwaukee, WI. The environment is a technological hub for traffic operations, which uses a variety of different technologies and tools for the purpose of enhancing safety and mobility.
Other responsibilities include:
Conduct work product audits to ensure quality, procedural compliance, and staff understanding
Oversee shift scheduling and compliance with attendance policies in conjunction with management
Coordinate and track all assigned employee initial and recurrent training and development of staff on assigned shift
Confirming staff adherence to all policies and procedures (AECOM and client)
Assume duties of Control Room Operator or Specialist when needed to fill staffing shortages
Attend meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. at the request of the Control Room Operations Manager, project manager, or client
Review applications and resumes for control room operator positions, assist in conducting interviews and recommending hires
Oversee nightly construction support ensuring quality and accuracy
Providing regular situational awareness to AECOM and client management on planned/unplanned events, device and systems outages, emergency situations, etc.
Managing and logging traffic incidents in an advanced transportation management system software
Coordinating and dispatching incident response crews to incidents in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Detecting, confirming, and tracking equipment failures affecting control room operations (ex. computers, CCTV cameras, digital message signs, etc.)
Coordinating with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders on all control room activities by providing essential and timely incident information and status
Informing first responders of traffic related incidents and assisting with coordination of lane closures and diversion routes.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support
Other tasks and projects as assigned by AECOM or client management.
HS + 2 or more years prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or other related experience.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such CCTV camera displays, meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls and communicating to other staff or partner agencies.
Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment
Experience in a traffic management or civil engineering field or previous supervisory experience
Demonstrated leadership & time management skills
Short-term or no notice assignments, On-Call Status; must be able to step-in and cover operations when needed, with no or limited notice
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong, accurate data entry skills
Ability to work in a team environment under stressful conditions
Must be able to work in a Control Room work environment
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment requiring high level of multi-tasking
Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally, including ability to keep management and other peer supervisors apprised of operational issues
Ability to synthesize information from multiple drivers
