Job Summary
AECOM continues to expand their successful and established Infrastructure Development team in Ireland and require a CAD Technician to work with our engineering team in our Dublin office. We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable candidate to join our high-performing Development Infrastructure engineering team.

A selection of our current and recent projects includes:
• Numerous development engineering projects for mixed-use, retail, commercial and residential developments
• Master planning advice on infrastructure deficiencies, upgrades etc. for developers on key strategic development schemes
• Public Sector Infrastructure Schemes including Detailed Design of Cycle, Pedestrian and Bus improvements

Responsibilities include:
As a CAD Technician, you will be expected to contribute to the design, development and technical delivery of projects and achieve enduring results. You will have the following daily responsibilities:
• Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by designers and make modifications to existing drawings, for planning, tender and construction stages across a range of Development Infrastructure projects.
• Create designs in 2D and 3D models using industry-standard modelling applications using Autodesk (Civil 3D, Infraworks etc.).
• Taking instructions from Engineers and producing drawings with limited supervision or direction.
• Production of accurate, detailed and to scale drawings.
• Self-checks own work and reviews work by others, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
• Keeping project folders updated and organised to AECOM BIM Standards.
• Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with different teams across AECOM and project partners to support the development and delivery of bids and projects.
Minimum Requirements

• Experienced and proficient with the AutoCAD suites.
• Experience working as a CAD Technician within a Civils team.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings.
• Attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings and self-check one’s work for accuracy and quality.
• Communication skills and relationship building to work with other engineers to understand and interpret their designs.
• Teamwork - essential to be able to work in a team as you'll be liaising with other CAD technicians and draughts persons on projects.
• Organisation and time management to complete work to project deadlines.
• A flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice.
• Enthusiastic, hard-working and ability to learn new technologies and techniques with ambition and drive.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience and knowledge of Civil 3D and Revit is preferable but not necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

• A degree is not a prerequisite for the role but it can provide relevant engineering and technical knowledge.  Relevant degrees include all engineering disciplines, architecture, manufacturing, IT and design.
• HND/HNC or equivalent.
• Ideally, you’ll be working towards ITech or equivalent.
