You will work in our established Ports and Marine team - with over 100 years of shared experience! We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our team and assist delivery on a wide range of projects with key clients - including local authorities, regulators, defence organisations, private developers and port operators, as well as internal clients both in the UK and overseas.

- Cruise Terminals
- Maritime defence
- Breakwaters

Job Summary
You will work in our established Ports and Marine team - with over 100 years of shared experience! We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our team and assist delivery on a wide range of projects with key clients - including local authorities, regulators, defence organisations, private developers and port operators, as well as internal clients both in the UK and overseas.
You will develop your skills and experience in:
- Producing 2D/3D design drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD
- Developing excellent drawing, drafting and checking skills
- Liaising with designers, project team engineers and technical experts to ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
- Working alongside our Project Managers and Project Administrator you will assist with implementing our document management system Bentley Projectwise and Document Control duties.
- Assisting on asset inspection and reporting on existing piers, coastal structures and outfalls (on various sites and in the office)
- As you gain experience with 2D drafting there will then be opportunities to learn the main 3D modelling tools we use, such as Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D and with these skills you will support the design delivery teams to gain an understanding of the engineering design requirements.
AECOM will support the successful candidate to obtain formal qualification and help them achieve their potential.
Minimum Requirements

- Strong interest in 3D modelling, 2D drawing extraction and digital technology
- Strong problem solving and innovation
- Basic proficiency in using CAD
- Sound skills to use all Microsoft Office packages.

- Working to or having recently completed an HNC in Civil Engineering or Computer Design would be beneficial.
