AECOM is seeking a Bus Rapid Transit Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in Philadelphia or Conshohocken or Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
Position is expected to begin in June 2023.
Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Bus Rapid Transit Entry Level Civil Engineer to be based in Mid-Atlantic or Southeast Regions to join our growing BRT engineering practice.
The Bus Rapid Transit Entry Level Civil Engineer is a key position that will report into the US East Region BRT Engineering Group.
The position includes development of transportation planning studies, preliminary engineering and final design of linear transit infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will work with an AECOM team and/or discipline lead, deputy project manager and/or technical task leader on select projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others team members.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Due to the nature of this role, US Citizenshi is required
- Previous internship experience on engineering design projects for US transit agencies, highway agencies and/or urban municipalities
- Previous internship experience designing highway, transit and/or transportation infrastructure
- Experience with design software including InRoads, Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads
