Job Summary
Bridge Engineer
AECOM South Africa is looking for bridge engineers for the delivery of diverse local and international bridge projects.
- Design and planning of new bridges, culverts, and other road and rail structures in accordance with TMH7 and other relevant codes;
- Rehabilitation and upgrading design of existing bridges and drainage structures;
- Oversee the preparation of construction drawings;
- Preparation of project specifications and contract documentation;
- Inspection of bridges and culverts in accordance with TMH19;
- Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work;
- Preparation of design reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum five years’ experience (including appropriate site experience);
- Experience in the design of bridges and other civil structures;
- Experience in the inspection of bridges and culverts;
- Knowledge of international bridge design codes will be a benefit;
- Proficiency in structural design software (Midas, Sofistik, RM Bridge) will be a benefit;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and CADS RC will be a benefit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Postgraduate studies in structural and/or bridge engineering will be a benefit;
- Accreditation as a Bridge or Culvert Inspector will be a benefit.
