AECOM is seeking a Pedestrian & Bicycle Specialist to be based in Atlanta, Georgia.
This position is expected to begin in November 2022.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Analysis of pedestrian and bicycle crash data to develop recommendations for countermeasures to reduce observed crashes.
Research assignments focused on pedestrian and bicycle facility planning and design best practices.
Assisting with the performance of Crash Screenings, Road Safety Audits, and Traffic Engineering studies.
Data analysis to perform network screenings that help to identify and prioritize needed ped/bike projects in a given geographical area.
Development of new standards, specifications, details, and policies that are focused on pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
Periodic field work in public rights-of-way and travel required within Georgia and neighboring states.
Collaborate and participate in internal and external team meetings.
Periodic travel required within Georgia and neighboring states.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Planning from an ABET or similar accredited school
Relevant work experience in pedestrian, bicycle, transit, or other multimodal planning or engineering is an advantage
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, self-starter with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, commitment to quality, and attention to detail
Experience applying standards and guidelines in ADAAG, PROWAG, GDOT’s Pedestrian and Streetscape Guide, the MUTCD, and design guides from NACTO and AASHTO
Experience in ArcGIS, Synchro and/or other traffic modeling software, MicroStation and/or other CAD software, intersection control evaluation (ICE) analysis, crash data analysis, alternatives analysis, multi-criteria decision analysis, benefit-cost analysis, and other related planning and engineering tools
