AECOM is looking for an Architectural Intern to be based in Chicago, IL who will work within our Buildings+Places practice supporting architectural, interior design, and marketing efforts. The intern will be mentored by senior staff members gaining an appreciate for marketing and project life cycles and office operations.

The selected candidate would be mentored by senior staff to help explain the importance of differing tasks, instill best practices, and to help provide clarity about the field they will be entering.


This position is expected to begin in January 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.



Minimum Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Construction/Architecture or related field
  • Must have completed 2 year of study
Preferred Qualifications
  • In progress of earning an architectural degree, bachelors (completed 3 years) or masters (completed 1 year).

  • Assist in the production of all phases of the design process; assist in pursuits and proposals, generation of design documents and renderings, construction administration, and close out.

  • Prior internship experience, with general knowledge of architectural drawings.

  • Proficient in Revit and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Portfolio available for review.

  • Proficient in Revit, Rhino, and/or Enscape.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

  • Well organized and possesses an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.

  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and practices.
