CarMax is seeking a Paid Video Strategist to join our expanding Acquisition Display Program. This role will play an integral role by leading a collaborative, cross-functional team in our Display and Paid Social Acquisition portfolio to recommend, test, scale and optimize innovative video-focused paid media strategies. What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
· Develop a short term vision for how lower funnel video advertising will deliver on business objectives and consumer journey expectations
· Proactively identify new projects and champion them within the team’s backlog of tests and ideas.
· Add a unique perspective to a thriving, collaborative, creative, and analytically-driven group of digital marketers.
· Collaborate, coordinate and share learnings with partner teams, including Marketing Technology, other Paid Acquisition programs teams, and Brand Marketing
· Lead dedicated cross-functional resources to achieve program objectives (including analyst, design, copy and media agency)
· Manage relationships, influence stakeholders and department leaders.
· Manage budget and pacing projections accurately and independently
Purpose of the role
As a Sr Digital Marketing Consultant, you have a critical role within CarMax’s Paid Digital Acquisition team. You will help to define strategic direction and dictate pace for a defined portion of our paid advertising portfolio, directly contributing significant corporate revenue and sales growth. You will be responsible for leading a highly skilled, cross-functional team to use signals to find the right audiences and deliver compelling creative that motivates car shoppers to buy their next car from CarMax. Successful candidates will have comfort for digging deep into analytical data and business insights, and a passion for developing innovative, thoughtful, creative-forward, media strategies. You will manage multiple programs and serve as a go-to expert for Display programs. Successful candidates should thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
· 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing Programmatic, Social and/or other paid media advertising strategy for a large brand or agency, YouTube experience preferred
· Experience leveraging analytical dashboards and data to make program improvements
· Experience developing insightful creative briefs and leading their execution, working with designers and copywriters
· Experience communicating and gaining buy in for solutions to complex problems
· Broad understanding of technical components of display programs
· Experience overseeing and leading the work of cross-functional teams, preferably in an agile environment
· Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Proven ability to deliver messages in a manner that is clear, effective and engaging.
· Experience managing multiple advertising programs simultaneously
· Internal Candidates: completion of MDP (Management Development Program)
