Join our research and development team as a Lead Food Designer! We want your expertise to lead significant small to large projects. With your help, we'll develop new products to foster long-term innovation pipelines for the N&I Team inclusive of work with Kellogg's eighteen94 capital group and with Kellogg Global Research to foster next-generation innovation with cutting-edge ideas and trends. You'll assist on complex programs to invent new products from ideation through scale-up. Innovate with us as you develop and refine food process technology - from idea generation through proof of concept to commercialization utilizing agile innovation and design thinking principles. You'll get to work on N&I products inclusive of Kashi, RXBAR and Pure Organic.

HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Creating the Future: Work with our new ventures team using the agile innovation method to bring breakthrough innovation to the category. Work with the Kellogg global team (Category Managers) working with Comas to understand/develop upcoming new food platforms and how to bring them as a competitive advantage to the N&I team. Help to lay out the ingredient sustainability strategy for the N&I Category.
  • Driving Business Growth - Create and coordinate key global projects while giving general direction to assigned teams in accomplishing projects on technical and scientific investigation or developments. We'll look to you to make tough calls - and see your vision become a reality!
  • Exemplifying Leadership - Demonstrate personal capabilities as a project manager, entrepreneur, planner, coordinator, communicator, and technical expert within the department. You'll move us toward success by giving general direction to assigned cross-functional teams in accomplishing projects on scientific and technical investigation or developments.
  • Implementing Key Trends - Take an innovative angle in discovery, advancement, and evaluation of new technologies in food/process research and development. By sharing the latest thinking, you'll have a significant impact on new products, improved products, and increased efficiency of global processes. Thanks to you, our products will be even better!
  • Fostering Creativity - Provide inventive, timely, and cost-effective improvements, concepts and developments as you apply scientific insights and understanding to new or existing global products or processes.
  • Sharing Technical Expertise - Use your leadership and expertise within the department and globally as an expert in a specific discipline, keeping current with the latest developments and technology through investigation, training, and communication with top influencers in your area of expertise.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • Owner's mindset and entrepreneurial spirit!
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or a related field and extensive relevant experience
  • Proven track record of leadership, business acumen, clear communication, and diplomacy
  • Are you a strong leader? We'd love to have your guidance and skills to promote good relations with worldwide management and other technical and scientific disciplines involved in project execution
  • Develop Innovative Finished Product Goods with compelling claims to win in the marketplace
  • Your project management expertise will enable you to successfully oversee several sustaining and transforming projects involving product relocations, flavor extensions, renovations, new products, value transformation savings, or moderate capital projects
Bonus Points:

  • Your experience with ingredients, flavors and emerging technology development in food industries will be an asset here!
  • MSc in food science or a related discipline or PhD in food science or a related discipline with significant relevant work experience in a related role
  • Know-how to provide technical expertise on a portfolio of complex projects
  • Interest in natural foods, natural/organic lifestyle, and nutrition
  • Experience working on Formed Bars
