Job Summary
We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Freewheel, New York. If you are excited to work with a tightly-knit team of data engineers solving hard problems the right way using cutting-edge data collection, transformation, analysis, and monitoring tools in the cloud, this opportunity is for you. This opportunity will be dedicated to Beeswax, a newly acquired programmatic offering. We build and maintain high-quality data solutions to process terabytes viewing data on the state-of-the-art cloud-native data platform using AWSJob Description
In this role, you will
Extensively use a combination of severalcutting-edgeAWS services, 3rd party commercial software, and internally developed software to design and implement data pipelines, building scalable and optimized enterprise data systems.
Manage, improve, and build the next generation of data tools and frameworks, in addition to developing andsupportingdata products and infrastructure.
Support and troubleshoot data and/or system issues. Collaborate with external teams toidentify,troubleshoot, andpermanently resolve data quality issues.
Develop in-house tools to automate common tasks.
Work with languages like Java, Scala Python, Bash, and SQLtowranglevast amounts of data.
Share learnings with wider engineering teams by doing technical demos! We love to show our work and learn from others. :)
Requirements:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science or similar field of study
2-3+ years of hands-on work in the field of Software development and Big Data.
Ability to writegood qualitycode in Python,Java,or Scala.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins is preferred
Grounded understanding of SQL and deeper understanding of at least one commonly used DB. We use Snowflake heavily as a datastore.
Must be versatile and an inquisitive problem solver.
Experience working with streaming systems such as Kafka or Kinesis. This team ownsa large Java application built on top of Kinesis.
Extra points if you have an AWS certification, and have worked previously on S3, EMR, Glue, EC2, IAM,CloudFormation, Athena, Lambda, and other AWS services.
