The Biomed Engineering Tech will perform general hands-on service and technical tasks including safety testing, preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in the medical equipment management plan. Maintains documentation and reporting of service activity and will manage asset life cycle. Coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance with vendor representatives from outside firms. Works as a team to ensure all equipment is properly managed and serves as knowledge resource to end users regarding equipment. This Biomed role will also act has as Sterilizer Specialist.
This is a full-time position, based out of our Corporate Office but requires flexibility to travel to additional Corporate or Hospital sites.
- A.A. in electronics or equivalent education in biomedical technology or equivalent military training or education
- Experience working with surgical lights and tables
- Sterilizer Training
- Knowledge of computer networks
- Healthcare experience
- A+ certification, AAMI certification
- Understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology
- Proficient and knowledgeable with applicable regulatory requirements. CMS-TJC-NFPA-HIPAA, etc.
